John Furneaux Got a message that this was complete! What are the new hotkeys we can use? I'm so excited

Andy Arzooman Great to hear! Tab / Shift + tab should now work. Shout if you have any issues!

John Furneaux it's not working for me; is this for PC or Mac? I have a Mac

I tried on desktop and web version of Hive

Andy Arzooman I spoke with the team today - it technically works, but I think we can get a better UX here, I'll come back to you with updates.

Hi Andy Arzooman - sorry for the back & forth here. We've made some adjustments which provide better tab index support. This means that TAB / SHIFT+TAB should now allow navigating forwards / backwards respectively without focusing the comment reply input.
We've pushed a tentative version live to just your workspace, and will be releasing elsewhere in the coming week.
Please give it a try as it should now function the same as the Adobe Acrobat experience.
Note: you may need to refresh your browser/app to ensure you're on latest version.

I've updated the details here to reflect our thinking on implementation. We're aiming to keep things in line and consistent with tools like Adobe Acrobat, so we will likely opt for supporting tab / shift+tab to navigate comments.
Adobe's hotkeys for comment nav, per their docs:
"Move focus to the next comment or form field" => Tab
"Move focus to previous comment or form field" => Shift+Tab
This means we'll also aim to better support how/when inputs get focused when navigating between comments.

Eric Typaldos I'm not sure this works on my version of Adobe. (I'm using Mac). When I've downloaded a PDF from Hive to my personal folder and open it in Adobe, I can click on the top comment and use the down arrow to scroll through the comments; using the tab key doesn't seem to work

Jan Arzooman tab and shift+tab both worked for this in our testing. It's also stated on the official documentation for Adobe Acrobat keyboard shortcuts: https://helpx.adobe.com/au/acrobat/using/keyboard-shortcuts.html
See the "Keys for working with comments" section.
Regardless, the changes we're making should work with this. We're also making it so that tabbing which eventually lands you on a comment input does not auto focus the input, but highlights it so that if you want to focus it you can press ENTER same as Acrobat.

Eric Typaldos whatever solution you come up with it will be greatly appreciated

Eric Typaldos Hi, Eric. We were told this was going to be fixed several months ago. When might we expect it? There are additional problems happening in the comments column so we are hoping no more issues arise upon this fix.

Or at least restore our shortcut--option/tab!

Any update on this? We're also still waiting for a restore on the comments--the ability to have the full comment showing along with any replies. This has been broken and fixed several times over last few years; currently it's been broken for a while.
