If you are referring to kanban views (status, label, team), you can decide whether subactions should never / always be shown in kanban views or only when they are in a different column from the parent action.

Go to project settings / kanban view.

Are you referring to project status view?

In the project settings, you can select how you want subactions to show up in kanban views. You can choose not to show subactions, show all subactions at all times and show subactions when they are in a different column from their parent action.

I suspect your request may be different from Zeena's request?

There are check boxes in action cards (introduced 8 Sept 2022, cf. changelog). Check boxes cannot have a due date or assignee (meaning you cannot search for them etc.). If this is what you asked for, this request could be marked complete.

Or would you rather like to have a "reduced action" card with only a title, assignee and due date? Which could be turned into a full subaction at any time?

In this case, we would have to figure out how this "reduced subaction" fits into Hive's logic:

In label view, it would never be displayed since it does not have a label of its own.

Should it be displayed in table view?

Should it be displayed in team view as a separate card if the project is set to show all subactions? What should the card look like?

Would you want to search for it?

I don't think it's easy to fit a category between check box and subaction into Hive's system.

It would be helpful if we could choose for sub actions to not open into a separate action card/page in Hive.
