Hive has now implemented this from the opposite direction: there are regular members and restricted members, with configurable permissions for the latter.

By disabling “Delete actions” for restricted members, we can effectively ensure that only admins/regular members with the appropriate role can delete actions.

This comes very close to addressing this request.

I like the idea of allowing only ADMINS to DELETE or ARCHIVE selected Actions and Milestones. This is particularly useful if in can be set in a template and then when a project is created with that template the Admin knows these certain actions/milestones are not going to be removed. Allows the setting of minimum standards in projects. Project Owners/members could still adjust duration, dates, etc. - everything on the Action/Milestone other than deleting or archiving it.

I would like to be able to restrict the ability of certain users from permanently deleting tasks or other data within a project. I need to be able to maintain version control in Hive and that's impossible if a team member deletes data which I cannot recover. I would like to be able to restrict certain users from deleting data.

Maybe the project setting could be:

— allow only admins to delete an action

— allow admins and the user who created an action to delete it

— allow only users who created the action to delete it
