I have the Hive Desktop app in my bottom application dock on my laptop. I only get a little number in a red circle for notifications as they relate to projects and actions being added, moved, status updates etc. What's most important to my daily work flow is knowing when someone has directly messaged me or when I've personally been @ mentioned in a "Groups" chat. These notifications are what I need to stop my work and address the most often in a timely manner. It would be so nice and helpful to look down at my app icon in my dock and know someone is trying to get a hold of me vs clicking on the app and having to scroll through the direct and group messages looking for them to be bolded in white. This number in a red circle was what I loved most about my Slack app. I knew when someone needed me in the moment and didn't need to click on slack if I didn't have a number of missed messages in a red circle.
