Link or connect related actions together
A
Ann Kiefert
As a project member, I can connect an action to a related action in another project so that both project teams can be aware of related actions.
Ex: Team A launched the original iteration of a campaign landing page. Team B is now building a new version of the campaign landing pages. Team B wants to wants to connect their action card to the card with the work history from Team A so they have it as reference if needed. These actions are not dependent up one another, just related.
This could expand on the dependencies function by adding others ways actions can be related. Including:
Is dependent upon (or depends on)
Is blocked by (or blocks)
Relates to
Is duplicated by (or duplicates)
(this is from Jira issue linking)

Link actions to other actions or sub-actions

We use parts (sub-actions) when creating assemblies (actions) and sometimes we use the same part in multiple assemblies or projects.
The ability to link an action or sub-action to another action or sub-action across multiple projects would save a ton of time by not having to search for that specific part that has already been completed.
Re-creating a new sub-action and uploading the part file also isn't very useful because we lose our comments, file attachments, dependencies, etc.

It's a valuable feature that when we need to have the same action card (as a sub-action) under different actions in 10 projects (for different workflow purposes), The change/update/comments should be reflected in all 10 projects at the same time. It's inefficient to update the same action one by one in each project.

Possible Workaround:
If there was a "Links" section in action cards, we could link other action cards there:

This would be very helpful. Referencing another action card for the current action for more information would be helpful.

Right now we can't link an action card to another action card, it has to be linked at the project level. We have use cases where the action card is only relevant to a specific piece of the project only and we would benefit from being able to link there without having to do so at the project level.

Hive removed the dependency types (start to finish, finish to start, start to start, etc.) a while ago and I'm not certain why - these are important. Yes, dependencies should be sufficient - I use them.

Melitta Ellerbe Michelle Weeks We have action dependencies...does that solve your problem or are you looking for a different type of linking? https://help.hive.com/en/articles/1048382-creating-dependencies

Kelley Bunge no dependency means an action is waiting for another to be completed. What we are requesting is having an alias (link/which could be updated simultaneously) under 2 different actions (as subtraction)
