Since the Risks and Issues now includes Risks, Issues, Assumptions, Dependencies, and Decisions, we need to be able to filter on those designations. On dashboards, we need to be able to filter down to a specific record type so that it (1) doesn't take up so much space on the dashboard, and (2) some dashboards are targeted for a specific purpose - having all types displayed is inappropriate.
