Currently, the notification number badge on the Desktop app is only triggered by notifications from the Me/Mentions tabs in the Notification Bell, but we'd like it to work for regular direct/group messages (without @mentions) as well.

Now, the behavior seems counter-intuitive to how most other texting/message systems work.
