Animated GIF support in proofing
B
Brandi Morris
Allow animated GIFs to play in the proofing area. In current state, uploading a GIF converts it to PDF (proofing version).

Hi everyone! We've merged a few requests into this one post.
We're actively looking into possible pathways to support this, but have a few questions for those who voted as it'll help shape our direction.
Would it be useful to have the GIF available as...
Option A:
In a format similar to our video proofing such that you can comment on the GIF at specific timestamps or frames?*
Option B:
Or is it acceptable to just allow the GIF to play as animated?**
* See how Hive handles mp4 and video files in proofing
** In this case any annotations would be just x/y coordinates and not tied to specific frames on the GIF

GIFs don't play in Proof window
E
Eric Typaldos
When viewing a proof that is a GIF, the preview does not animate. Expected behavior is that GIFs should play/animate in the proof preview so reviewers can see the motion content without downloading the file.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Upload a GIF as a proof
2) Open the proof
Actual result: GIF does not play
Expected result: GIF plays/animates

Show animated Gifs in approver

we do animated digital Gif advertisement. It is a serious pain to have to send them via email to the approvers and then put them into Hive for approval, but in the hive approver they can not see the Gifs Animate.

Proof: Don't convert GIF to PDF

When a user uploads a GIF as a proof, Hive shouldn't automatically change the GIF file to PDF file.

Agreed. So annoying whenever we're proofing animated gifs it just makes a PDF of the first frame and you can't see the animation. We end up having to just add Gifs as attachments in the notations and ask people to approve that way. So annoying!

YES do NOT convert them to PDF and only show the first frame!

Yes, and play continuously instead of clicking to start it.
