Dear Hive Development Team,
I propose an enhancement for the Hive Action Cards: the introduction of a "Duration" field that can work in tandem with the existing start and end date fields.
Why "Duration" Matters:
  1. Efficiency:
Action Card durations simplify scheduling and critical path management. Unlike dates, which require both a start and end date, a duration approach necessitates only a single value.
  2. Seamless Sequencing:
Using durations enables a smoother chaining of multiple Action Cards. It eliminates the need for manually inputting and aligning specific dates, making project planning more intuitive and less prone to errors.
Coexistence with Dates:
I am not suggesting the abandonment of dates; they are a fundamental part of project management. However, introducing an "Action Card Duration" as a complementary feature is pivotal.
Challenges with Current Solutions:
Many project management tools, including MS Project, struggle to seamlessly integrate and align "duration" with "dates." This results in a cumbersome user experience and can lead to errors in project planning.
The Opportunity for Hive:
Hive has the potential to find an elegant solution to this challenge. By implementing a "Duration" field that coexists harmoniously with the "Dates," Hive can set itself apart in the market. This feature could offer users a more efficient and intuitive project planning experience.
